After nothing less then playing a complete canada and japan tour, the band who just exists for 2 years now, is looking forward to release their debut album on Papercup Records. The album deals with someone falling under water and suddenly recognizing the slowlyness and quietness of everything. A somehow shocking moment that turns into an exiting experience of a self. Under water you can hear nothing but yourself and so ACUA is thinking loud, asking questions to the world, having a conversation with oneself. It?s about finding the right inner voice with different perspectives, about changing your character and about finding something real. ACUA have this overall warm melanchollic atmosphere which is always wandering between dreamyness and a certain thrilling suspence, that somehow reminds on old records by Peter Gabriel and the expressiveness of 70s progressive rock music. The album has a real signature guitar sound that turns their rough and spacey guitars from beatles attitude into overdriven lead monsters, as shown in Radio-Head-ish songs like „Days“ and „Run“. In „Do you sometimes Think Up Cheesy Things“ and „Keep Spinning“ vocals sing about crossing borders to make new experiences while being locked in your head. Days are circling „like a merry-go-round“. „If there is someone out there please grab our hands“. In those songs you will find gritty power pop Songs that remind on early MGMT songs with driven „Can“ – inspired drums. The other end of the ACUA album are the B-Sides with „Kuala“ „Illusion“ or „Diving Into Dreams“ adding an interesting ethno and art-rock vibe to it.
