Swedish Power Metal veterans AXENSTAR are an integral part of the European scene since a long time. The band has released six studio albums so far since their debut ‘Perpetual Twilight’ arrived in 2002. AXENSTAR’s latest album was 2014’s ‘Where Dreams Are Forgotten’, but now they are finally back with a brand new piece of work called ‘End Of All Hope’, which is definitely among their finest hours and arguably even their best so far. The band sounds fresh and inspired, at the same time ‘End Of All Hope’ feels like AXENSTAR are more than ever aware of their roots and what their fans love them for. Songs like ‘King Of Fools’, ‘Honor And Victory’ or ‘My Kingdom Come’ are as classic Power Metal as it gets, taking the spirit of the early 2000’s scene into the here and now. The band from V?ster?s continues to stand for high class Power Metal. ‘End Of All Hope’ will definitely not do its title justice; actually quite the contrary. AXENSTAR are back with an impressively strong new release and in this condition we all can only hope that there’s still a lot more to come from them. If you’re into early Sonata Arctica, Nocturnal Rites, Stratovarius or Iron Savior, ‘End Of All Hope’ might give you new hope for the entire genre.
