Musical encounters are essential for Bugge Wesseltoft. The jazz pianist has already recorded several albums with musicians from all over the world. So it comes as no surprise that the Norwegian has launched a new label: Ok World. One of the first releases is Lembi by multi-instrumentalist Adama Barry from Burkina Faso. Barry leads the tradition of the Fulani shepherds, who lived in the whole of the southern Sahara belt from Sudan to Senegal. The music of the Fulani (or Fulbe) is a unique A mixture of different African influences. The instruments built by Barry themselves are based on this Culture: Douliarou and Douliyayen flutes and stringed instruments, related to the lute or the banjo are. In Wesseltofts Studio Buggesroom the meanwhile musicians who live in Norway are apt to reduced compositions to - only in the accompaniment of Solo Diarra on djembe drum and balafon.
