Untethered' is Willard Grant Conspiracy's tenth and final album. Mastermind and founder of the band, Robert Fischer, wrote the title song after his cancer diagnosis, which he received after a tour in 2016. He died in February 2017. Fischer has always been the constant member of Willard Grant Conspiracy since the band was founded in Boston in 1995 and has worked with numerous musicians from the USA and Europe over the years. You could often read that in the credits: If someone tells you that he was involved here, then it's probably the case." Fischer's dark timbre unmistakably shaped the sound of the folk rock collective, which produced dark, acoustic Americana ? la John Cale and Johnny Cash. The band also does justice to this comparison on their new album 'Untethered', which was released with Fischer's long-time companion David Michael Curry in charge after the death of Willard Grant Conspiracy's head.
