Two decades ago Apocalyptica released their first and most successful album "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos". To date, over 1.5 million copies have been sold, 2016 also saw the release of the Remastered version with three bonus tracks. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking and decisive album, Apocalyptica have been on the extensive 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos' world tour since 2017. The very emotional and completely instrumental live shows feature four cellos, one drum set and an evening full of Metallica covers. Breathtaking highlights are the cello versions of hits like "Enter Sandman", "Master of Puppets" and "Seek and Destroy", as well as the spectacular encores "Nothing Else Matters" and "One", which get under the audience's skin. Just in time for the tour break, Apocalyptica announce the highly anticipated release of the live album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos - A Live Performance" as 1DVD + 2CD Digipak. The DVD contains the entire 2-hour Concert in the impressive medieval Olavinlinna Castle in Savonlinna, Finland. The accompanying CD/digital (and later vinyl) formats represent the rock side of the band and were recorded at the three sold-out shows at the legendary TavastiaClub in Helsinki in September. This year's release will be followed in 2019 by an elaborately designed 1DVD + 3LP + Download Code package.
