Johannes Maikranz has recorded a super modern Large Ensemble recording in a musical language realized. I founded the ensemble ZEITBLOOM in 2015 to make some of the pieces that I have written and worked on for several years. During this time I have intensively studied classical and contemporary music. My goal was to integrate elements of this harmonic language into my bigband pieces. The result was in the end also a changed line-up consisting not only of jazz musicians but almost half of classical musicians. The connecting link here is the ingenious pianist Aydin Esen, who for some years was my teacher at the Hochschule f?r Musik in Basel. Having him in the band is an unbelievable happiness - he is like no other in a position to create a completely new world out of nothing, and from there he is able to create a whole new world. to create an atmosphere and to transport a piece with his improvisations to a completely different level. Arts et M?tiers e. g., named after the Paris Metro Station, starts with a 12th tone line and is then processed into a fugue, from which further voices partly consist of 12 tone lines. Most of the rest of the material is generated after this first melody, like the rhythm group interlude, in which Aydin Esen plays the melody so incredibly, that Aydin Esen plays the melody. that we musicians began to applaud spontaneously after this take. This group of incredible musicians has made it possible to bring these pieces to life "(Johannes Maikranz) Aydin Esen has lived in the USA for more than 25 years and has made masterly and award-winning recordings in the USA. He played with Pat Metheny, Gary Burton, Trilok Gurtu, among others, and played with his friend and colleague Wolfgang Mutspiel, who says about the new great recording:"ZEITBLOOM is an impressive, exciting and courageous explanation. Johannes Maikranz has created a super modern large ensemble recording in a musical language that refers to both jazz tradition and new classical music. Together with the master of improvisation Aydin Esen, Maikranz has woven a colourful, multi-layered net. The music is well structured and highly intelligent but never abstract and always sensual and sensual. I'm a fan. (Wolfgang Muthspiel)
