Society must be Sassy! "This is what the five Hamburgers have set their sights on in their founding in 2012 and have been moving through Germany all over the world. Now they are releasing their second album and they know that anyone who wants a "SASSY SOCIETY" needs "A SASSY NATION". This is also the title of the new record, on which they sing their version of a state with a lot of wink and double ground. They treat their lives on and off the stage with all the ups and downs. While her debut album "Lipstick Love Affair" was still a tribute to the glamrock of the 70s and the sleazerock of the 80s, A SASSY NATION is "sassy": dirty hard rock with the power of punk and the groove of the funk. This groove is played by drums and bass of the dancing crowd (Angie (A.W.W.), Dirty Minds) or pounding drifting beats around her ears (Forever And A Day, Hail In Hell). In Pretty Boy, Gypsy Paradise and King Of Nothing, you'll get a point-guitare guitar style and a cool guitar attitude. The bluesy solos sometimes scream emotionally (Hit It), sometimes the virtuosic lead guitar sings melodically (King Of Nothing). With this Wall Of Sound in the back, Mark LeBosch sings the soul out of his body. Vocal and multifaceted: sometimes soft (It's Alright) times rough (Pretty Boy). He also sang some interesting encounters on tour (Angie (AWW)), the rocky road to the spotlight (Skin Me Alive) and of course the heartache: sometimes hopelessly vulnerable (tears), sometimes desperate and boiling with rage (I'll Be Leavin 'You). His lyrics are always pointed, poetic and unpopular. At first sight, "A SASSY NATION" appears like an utterly delirious delusion of a "SASSY SOCIETY", but on closer listening the emotional depth and the musical diversity that these 12 songs show. So: hand on the heart and sing along!
