The compositions and lyrics of the album are inspired by the Icelandic classic "A?venta" by Gunnar Gunnarssson, a saga that tells of friendship, attachment to nature and tolerance. The music is about the wandering of the shepherd Benedict, who in December, the darkest and cruellest month of the year, alone in the Highland Islands for lost sheep. Through the sounds one experiences wonderful landscapes, cold, storms, Friendliness, warmth, silence, isolation, hope and broken dreams. M?gil is an Icelandic-Belgian ensemble whose music includes contemporary classical, folk, jazz, minimal and post-rock. into a universe of its own.
