"Whenever I make a record, there are always a few songs that come out nicely, but can't seem to fit on the album," explains Astronautalis (his real name is Andy Bothwell). "Instead of seeing those songs collect dust on a hard drive, we decided to cluster them together, along with some remixes from a few of my favorite producers out there." "Subp Yao is a pretty mind blowing beat maker from the Netherlands. I have been an obsessive fan of Bird Peterson's work since he first started ropping his legendary Drankenstein mixes for Mad Decent. Those mixes were miles ahead of their time for rap production." Having started in music over 20 years ago as a battle rapper, Astronautalis' roots are planted firmly in hip-hop. However, the sounds and styles throughout his discography are an animal not so easily caged. At any point, Astronautalis touches upon shoegaze-laced indie rock, pulsating electronic, swampy Southern-influenced blues, and more.
