One of the most legendary 60s teen punk bands is back! After the sensationally good comeback single? Marie? /? Gloria? now actually a complete Lp! 14 songs, 12 of which were written by Alarm Clocks singer/songwriter Mike Pierce. Those who expected these new songs to be qualitatively far behind their all-time classic "No Reason To Complain" will experience a big surprise. One hardly dares to say, but the old sacks of the alarm clocks manage to make exactly the Lp, which they could not realize at that time (1966) before their dissolution. Numbers like Its About Time, Dont Get Left Behind, Feelin Fine or Its Been Too Long sound like lost classics from the original Sixties Punk era! The two cover versions are "Like A Rolling Stone" by Dylan (in a very snotty version) and the old Bo Diddley warhorse "Im A Man". The Alarm Clocks versions of these numbers are of such a convincing freshness that you can easily overlook the triteness of the two pieces (which have certainly been covered a thousand times). The guitar sound on this record is sharp as a razor blade, and Mike Pierce's vocals still sound as haunting, rough and? snotty? as they did 40 years ago!
