very limited amount available In June 1980, JERRY and BOB GREENBERG then from Atlantic Records decided to start up their own label and MIRAGE MUSIC was born. The label signed bands and individual artists from across many genre’s and was very prominent from it’s inception until the late 80’s when JERRY moved on and was named MGM/United Artists president. The label has now been reactivated (2003/04) as MIRAGE MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT and opened offices in Jamaica and Las Vegas and installed Stacey Greenberg as general manager. This second volume of Soul & Funk from Mirage is again packed full of great extended version’s alongside club mixes, dub mixes, mega-rare 12 inch version’s and a 2009 new sound edit from the great Paul Simpson. For openers we have the club mix of Magic Number by Blue Magic (1983-Magic #) written by Ted (WIZARD) Mills & Darnell Jordan and produced by Butch Ingram, next is Paul Simpson’s Best Looking Sound Edit of the T.S. Monk track Bon Bon Vie (1981-House Of Music) written by Sandy Linzer & L. Russell Brown and produced by Sandy Linzer, after this comes The System’s You Are In My System (Bilingual Dub Mix) written and produced by Mic Murphy and David Frank (1983-Sweat). From here we move on to Ingram’s When You’re Hot You’re Hot (Dub Version) written by John Ingram and produced by Family Productions (1984-Night Stalkers), then it’s Stroke’s Tell Me written and produced by Terry Price (1986-Stroke). Track 6 is the rare Carl Weathers tune That’s Love Calling written by H. Murrell, R. Jackson, C. Weathers, D.J. Emile and produced by Hadley D. Murrell (1982-Soup For One), again another rare title the Mary Love track Save Me written by D. Flett & M.G. Fletcher and produced by Eddie Martinez (Vocal Club Mix-1982-Soup For One). First Love – Give Me Your Love (12 inch Version) written by Jason Bryant, Sonia Rossman & Sheila Tyson and produced by Jason Bryant is followed by Norma Jean Wright’s Love Attack again the 12 inch Version written by Steve Williams, John Anderson & David Williams and produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers, another track written and produced by the prolific Edwards and Rodgers comes next Teddy Pendergrass with Dream Girl. Track 11 is Roz Ryan – Waiting For My Lover written by William Ingram and produced by Family Productions then we have Terri Jones with Do It Again Tonight (12 inch Version) written and produced by Patrick Adams. Then Nile Rogers – It’s All In Your Hands (1983-Adventures In The Land Of The Good Groove) written and produced by Nile Rogers, and finally we have Taka Boom – Rock Yo’ World (1985-Middle Of The Night) written and produced by Billy Rush
