After the extremely successful first two parts of the Fremer -cycle, ASP had interrupted it for the two-part concept album Verfallen, but now return with tiefst. For ASP mastermind Alexander Frank Spreng a logical consequence: Deepest starts exactly where Maskenhaft left off about four years ago. At the end of it we were at a cliff and from there we plunged deep into the sea. This deep-sea theme was something I had invented a long time ago. He is not interested in the usual seafaring and pirate stories, but in the truest sense of the word a deeper meaning:For me, the deep sea is a great metaphor for modern man himself. We manage to fly into space, we are networked and progressive in all respects, but we don't know what is going on deep below us and inside our soul. But the cycle is not finished yet, you can safely assume that there will also be a fourth part. I feel at home in this topic at the moment and would like to continue writing about it before I do something completely new or different.
