Almost unobservingly the great Alpheus released its second album Good Prevails. Actually, I wanted to choose one of his songs for my Montagsmusik. Just do not know which, because all can be incredibly good. Ska and Rocksteady galore. I'm not going to make the mistake of drowning an Alpheus album. I only mentioned his debut From Creation 2011 on my annual list. Three years later, Alpheus is back and sounds as if Good Prevails had been created in the same session as the predecessor. Heartbreaking rocksteady, swinging ska - who does not feel anything, eats stones for breakfast, with vinegar instead of milk. If an artist still sounds the same as before, I might blame him. But even if, Alpheus 2011 was already on an incomprehensible high level. I can not think of anyone else who has Rocksteady and Ska as original as he did. In addition, Alpheus has a strong producer along with Roberto Sanchez. The A-Lone Muzik Studio must be a time travel cabin. I can hardly explain how the Spaniard produces this authentic 1960s sound. Three songs I put to you especially our ear: Our Strenght, Good Prevails and Show Some Love. The rest, as written, is also great. Special request to all parties involved. The disc is definitely set for my list of 2014.
