First time on vinyl! Prog-popster The Anchoress (aka Catherine AD) announces the release of her debut album on double vinyl, alongside an expanded 2nd edition 2CD gatefold digipack. The album was originally released to critical acclaim in January 2016, and has been lovingly remastered for vinyl by Jon Astley (Tori Amos, The Who). This expanded, second edition of the album also includes 5 brand new acoustic versions of songs from the album, featuring string arrangements from Gillian Wood and guest vocals from Paul Draper. Garnering comparisons to John Grant, Lana Del Rey and Kate Bush, Catherine’s previous singles have received heavy rotation from BBC 6Music and lit up the web, going to number 2 on the Hype Machine and number 11 on the Apple Music video chart. The Anchoress’ debut album has been lauded by the music press, racked as one of HMV’s “best albums of 2016” and has found fans in the likes of Peter Gabriel (who selected it for his album club), Manic Street Preachers, and more. Catherine is currently working on her follow-up album, as well as a collaboration with Bernard Butler, and has co-written 7 tracks on label-mate Paul Draper’s forthcoming solo album.
