Carl Carlton is an exceptional artist of international standing. As a guitarist, songwriter and producer, he has worked with Robert Palmer, Eric Burdon, Joe Cocker and Paul Young to name but a few. For decades he has also accompanied the most successful German rock musicians Peter Maffay, Udo Lindenberg and Marius M?ller-Westernhagen. Many music lovers, however, know him above all for his band Carl Carlton & The Songdogs. A retrospective of this distinguished artist and his brilliant band will be released on 13 September. Under the title "Lifelong Guarantee - The Best Of Carl Carlton & The Songdogs" (Staages Music/Vertrieb: Cargo) a full vinyl box set, an extensive double CD, a collector vinyl single and a digital complete package will be released. The box set, limited to a total of 500 pieces and numbered consecutively, contains a total of four vinyl LPs in 180 gram format with 35 songs and individually designed LP covers. The extensive booklet, which includes unpublished photos, offers various prefaces by Carl Carlton as well as personal and previously unpublished insights into the creation of all songs, which have also been completely re-mastered by Fred Kevorkian in New York. The double CD, which will also be released separately, as well as the 7" vinyl single with the Amnesty International anniversary song "Toast To Freedom" and a cover of the Buffalo Springfield hit "For What It's Worth" on the B-side will also be included in this set. A hand-signed photo of all five current Songdogs members, a new laminated tour pass, two guitar picks and a key ring of the famous New York "Chelsea Hotel" with the number of the room where Carl Carlton wrote some of his most important songs complete the box. Not to mention the download card for the entire digital song package.
