4 - CD BOXED SET FEATURING THE FINEST LIVE RECORDINGS AVAILABLE BY THIS ENDURING GROUP Formed in 1970 by Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley, America were all sons of US Air Force personnel stationed in London, where they met, formed a group and began performing live. Gaining popularity quickly, they soon signed with Warner Bros., and hit big in 72 with their A Horse With No Name , which topped the chart in the USA and a number of other territories. The rest, as they say, is history, but it s an ongoing history as two of the original trio - Messrs. Bunnell and Beckley - remain active and tour regularly to this day. Dan Peek left the group in the late 1970s, and sadly passed away in 2011. This unique 4-CD Boxed Set gathers together some of the finest ever live performances from America, recorded between 1972 and 1996, all of which were the subject of FM radio Broadcasts at the time. Featuring shows played at Sigma Sound Studios, PA, in 1972, The Universal Amphitheatre, Universal City, CA, in 1978, and Baden-Baden, in Germany in 1996, this enticing collection represents all eras of this enduring act and illustrates perfectly what a truly professional and musically talented group America have always been.
