To celebrate 50 years of Pink Floyd, who have changed the world of pop culture, The Sword guitarist Kyle Shutt has produced a heavy metal cover of her groundbreaking album "The Dark Side of the Moon". "Doom Side of the Moon" was recorded with the help of his band mates from The Sword, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Santiago Vela III, singer Alex Marrero (Brownout/Brown Sabbath), saxophonist Jason Frey (Black Joe Lewis / Hard Proof) and keyboarder Joe Cornetti (Croy & The Boys). "The idea came after I smoked something and wanted to hear a heavy version of' Time',"says Shutt. "I thought, why not just cover the whole album? After I sat down and worked out a few loose concepts, the arrangement for' Money' was made and I realized that I could do it quite simply by putting together a real band. It felt a little weird to mess up someone like Pink Floyd's legacy, but I consider it a homage to one of the greatest bands ever rocked, a party that everyone is invited to.
