Perrier Award winning saxophonist and composer Josephine Davies works at the forefront of the contemporary British jazz scene. Graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she is now resident composer and tenorist for the London Jazz Orchestra and is featured on the recent, highly acclaimed big band album from veteran saxophonist Pete Hurt. Josephine’s new trio project, Satori, features the huge talent of drummer and percussionist Paul Clarvis (Liam Noble, Steve Swallow), and bassist Dave Whitford (Christine Tobin, Bill Frisell). Influenced by the great live trio recordings of Joe Henderson and Julian Arguelles, Satori were inspired to create a similar feeling of freedom and exploration whilst also bringing a fresh and unique sound through original compositions.
