BURNSIDE, JOSHUA - Ephrata (Sealed) (LP)

EPHRATA', the award winning debut album by Joshua Burnside gets a repress and will be available exclusively in indie stores on 12'' red-coloured vinyl shrink wrap. Northern Irish experimental folk songwriter Joshua Burnside is something of a regional anomaly. With a brooding, powerful sound echoing artists of places afar and time long gone, his enthralling craft defies local comparison in striving towards an aesthetic as much as visual as it is sonic. Joshua released his debut album 'Ephrata' in 2017. With its unique mix of Irish traditional and European folk music and Americana it became a critical and commercial success, winning 'Best Album' at the Northern Irish Music Prize.. A multi-instrumentalist, Burnside played most of the sounds on the album but was also joined by a number of collaborators and producers with whom he's worked with over the past few years, most of whom play for different people and have their own solo projects. These include his brother Connor on drums and percussions, electronic solo artist Rachael Boyd on violin and synths, Clark Phillips on bass and Sarah Martin on trumpet. Following the reissue of 'Joshua and his five-piece band will go back on the road for their biggest tour yet.
